After 8 years of not visiting my hometown, I finally made my way down to Cotija de la Paz Michoacan, Mexico. Where I was born and grew up till I was 7 years old and migrated to what I now call home, San Diego, CA.
Cotija is a small town where everyone knows everyone. Almost everyone is their own boss and either sells food or makes products to sell. From selling produce at the local market to having small businesses next to their home. When I lived here, My Father owned a small produce store next to our house. My grandpa is 93 years old and still sells his fruits outside his house that he grows in his few acre land behind his home. My mother’s side of the family sells chickens. They are known as “Los Pollos” in the town.
People really hustle out there, 7am everyone is up and working. I guess that’s where I get my hustle from.
I’m not much of a writer/blogger. Writing isn’t my best form of telling a story so I will let the photos speak for themselves. I hope you can emerge yourself into the culture and lifestyle of my hometown.
